A head-on collision at the intersection of Salem Road and Kirkland Road sent two drivers to Grady Hospital on Dec. 3, in an accident where alcohol was allegedly involved, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
A white Jeep Cherokee driven by Tayton Bonner, 28, of Conyers was heading north on Salem Road around 7:40 p.m. at the same time a black Nissan Altima driven by a 17-year-old from Covington was heading south, said GSP Trooper Kevin Pope.
The driver of the Nissan, who had her seatbelt on at the time, attempted to turn east onto Kirkland Road and the two cars crashed.
Bonner did not have a seatbelt on and his head reportedly went through the windshield, causing cuts and injuries to his ear. Test results are still pending, but alcohol was reportedly involved with the Jeep driver, according to Pope.
Both drivers were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
