20-year-old killed in fiery car crash

A fatal single-vehicle crash killed a 20-year-old Covington man and sent two others to the hospital.

Early Sunday morning, around 1:23 a.m., a blue Chrysler Sebring was traveling west on Sigman Road near Gees Mill Road in Rockdale County, according to Georgia State Patrol.

The vehicle, which had a driver and two passengers, left the road on the north shoulder of Sigman Road, striking a street sign and then a large utility pole before overturning onto its left side.

The car reportedly caught on fire.

One passenger, 20-year-old Santez Fortson of Covington, died at the scene.

The other passenger, Antonio Johnson, 18, of Lithonia, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was Keshaun Cobb, 18, of Covington. He was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.
