ATLANTA (AP) — Forecasters say strong winds with gusts of up to 40 mph are expected to continue throughout Monday across much of Georgia.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory through 6 p.m. for most of the state.

It covers several cities, from Calhoun, Rome and Dahlonega in the north to Americus, Dublin and Vidalia in the south. The advisory also includes most of the state's major cities such as Atlanta, Athens, Columbus, Gainesville and Macon.

Forecasters say the high winds could make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
