ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Police in Athens say a University of Georgia student is in intensive care after being stabbed during a dispute with another student.

Police say a 21-year-old student was stabbed in his chest Thursday night and 20-year-old Aliammar Malani has been charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespassing. Police say the victim was also wounded on his arm and hand. Authorities say the students were involved in an ongoing dispute that boiled over after they keyed each other's cars Thursday.

Athens-Clarke County police Maj. Clarence Holeman tells the Athens Banner-Herald (http://bit.ly/XwH5MP ) the two had once been friends. Authorities say although the victim lost a substantial amount of blood, his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Malani is being held without bond and it is unclear if he has an attorney.
