TUCKER, Ga. (AP) — Some metro Atlantans are considering forming a new city.

CBS Atlanta reports (http://bit.ly/13rDxAi) that hundreds of people showed up for a Monday night meeting in Tucker to hear about a plan to form what would be Georgia's newest city of Lakeside.

The new city would be carved out of DeKalb County, and residents discussed including a portion of the existing city of Tucker.

At times, the crowd broke out in chants of "Tucker" to express their desire to stay as they are.

Officials say it would take a couple of years and state legislation in order for the new city to be formed. The area is just northeast of Atlanta.
