WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) — Police are investigating after a metro Atlanta family found a large cross, which had been set on fire in their front yard.

The flaming cross was found Sunday night, a few steps from the front door of their Woodstock home about 30 miles north of Atlanta.

Members of the Louis family tell WSB Radio (http://bit.ly/FRvCy) that someone also left two large chunks of deer meat near their front door.

The family members say they've been sleeping in shifts to be on guard in case of a similar incident.

Residents of the home are black, but the motives behind the crime are not clear.
