AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say charges have been filed against a north Georgia woman and her teenage son who are accused of trying to provide prison inmates with cellphones.
The Augusta Chronicle reports 39-year-old Alicia Michelle Price, of Dallas, was booked into the Richmond County jail Monday and is charged with five counts of going inside a guard line with contraband.
Richmond County sheriff's officials say Price drove her 16-year-old son to the Augusta State Medical Prison in mid-May and employees saw the teen throw a bag of cell phones and chargers over a fence.
Officials say the unidentified teenager has also been charged. It's unclear if Price has an attorney.
