CONYERS, Ga. (AP) — Georgia State Patrol officials say two people, including a baby, were killed in an early morning street racing crash.
Authorities say the baby's unidentified mother was racing her Honda accord on I-20 early Friday morning in Rockdale County and lost control of the car. The car hit a guardrail and was eventually hit by a pickup truck.
Officials say the woman's 7-month-old baby and a 19-year-old passenger died in the crash. State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright says the driver the woman was racing with has been identified and will be interviewed. The passengers in the pickup truck were also injured.
Authorities say the fatal crash caused another accident nearby when a driver who tried slowing down because of the crash was rear ended.
