COVINGTON, Ga. - Waffle House will partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia (BGCNCG) once again in their Spirit Day this Thursday 11:30 a.m.to 2 p.m. at all Newton County locations.

The event, an ongoing partnership with the North Central Clubs, is in support of the grand opening of the Newton County Boys & Girls Club teen center, which will serve eighth through 12th-grade students. The club’s opening date is set for Fall 2018.

District Manager for Waffle House Cynthia Cooper said she was “eager to get involved” to help the Boys & Girls Club continue offering bright futures for the children in and around Newton.

“Waffle House supports Newton County in bringing the Boys & Girls Club to the community because we understand the importance in developing, educating and fostering a positive alternative resource for our youth,” she said.

“This club will help our youth become responsible citizens and this is our opportunity to give back to the community who has always embraced Waffle House.”

A percentage of the proceeds from Spirit Day will support the Newton County Boys & Girls Club and every cent counts.

“This couldn’t be a better opportunity to have great food and company for a great cause,” Bob Mackey, CEO of BGCNCG, said.

“Waffle House Spirit Day will be a great way to see first hand the type of change we’re trying to create for our kids in Newton County,” he said. “We are the hub for youth development and we take pride in our work. This fundraiser allows the community to get involved in making a lasting impact with us.”

Serving more than 1,400 youth from Walton, Morgan, Greene and now Newton, BGCNCG’s vision is to provide a world-class experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors.
