Miss Rosa, the host of PBS KIDS will appear at the Mall at Stonecrest on Saturday during PBS KIDS Family Fun Day with special guest appearances by Sid the Science Kid and Super Why. Three magical shows will be the highlights of this fun-filled day.

Jennifer Peña, who portrays Miss Rosa on PBS KIDS, encourages kids to explore new cultures and experiences by introducing Spanish language content. Fluent in Spanish, Peña is a Florida certified teacher with classroom experience who decided to incorporate her love of teaching with her first love — acting. She is now teaching Acting for Kids and Teens classes and workshops and private coaching. Peña started acting professionally at the age of 9 when she landed a role in the Touchstone film, Ernest Saves Christmas. Since then, she has had roles in several national commercials including Ford Edge and Universal Studios, television appearances on "One Tree Hill," film appearances in "Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector," and was a host for Shamu TV.

Sid the Science Kid, a science-based television series takes preschoolers on a journey to find answers to everyday questions. Featuring exclusive animation from the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, the children’s show is an engaging and entertaining animated preschool series promoting exploration and science readiness in a kid-friendly way — no lab coats or test tubes here. Sid explores the science of everyday realities that preschoolers face with the help of his friends and family. Produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET/Los Angeles, Sid the Science Kid continues Henson’s legacy of quality children’s entertainment as the Company’s first curriculum-based series for PBS KIDS.

Sid the Science Kid is part of a long line of successful preschool programming from The Jim Henson Company that includes Fraggle Rock, Bear in the Big Blue House and Muppet Babies.

Super Why, a breakthrough preschool series designed to help kids ages 3 to 6 with the critical skills that they need to learn to read (and love to read) as recommended by the National Reading Panel (alphabet skills, word families, spelling, comprehension and vocabulary). Super Why is the first original program from Out of the Blue Enterprises, an innovator in interactive children’s entertainment led by Angela C. Santomero, an Emmy-nominated co-creator of "Blue’s Clues," and Samantha Freeman Alpert, a veteran in children’s entertainment. Super Why makes reading an empowering adventure by using interactive literacy games. In every episode, one of the friends encounters a problem and as in real life, the problems require preschool social skills to resolve. And that’s when Super Why gets super-powered!
