Tim 'Tee' Brown is running for District 3 County Commissioner of Newton County. He qualified on Friday, March 11.
Brown has been a resident of Newton County for the last eight years and is married to Pamela Cunningham Brown. Brown is a devoted husband, father, minister and citizen of his community. He attends the Springfield Baptist Church.
After 18 years of service with the Fulton County Board of Assessors, Brown retired as a manager in the residential department. He is a graduate of Alabama A&M with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a minor in mathematics. He is also in the Alabama A&M Athletic Hall of Fame and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Brown has served as Chair of the Board for the Traveling Angels Ministry, Inc. — a ministry that assists 300-400 seniors in Newton, Rockdale, Dekalb, Fulton and Bibb counties.
Brown said he is running because he wishes to improve public safety in the district; increase school security, bring commercial business to the west side of the district, and improve sanitation services. He also wants to create a park west of I-20 where children can play and other citizens can walk and exercise.
Brown is running against two other Democrats in an election that will be decided in the May 24 primary.
