COVINGTON, Ga. - The Rotary Club of Covington will host its 25th Annual “Cars of the Past” Car Show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1 on the Covington Square.
The event is free for the public and there will be plenty of food, fun and music for all ages. As always, this year’s judging includes not only classic cars and trucks, but motorcycles and golf carts, too. There are prizes galore including Top 100 and 10 Best of classes.
The show draws classic car enthusiasts from all around the surrounding counties and as far away as Savannah, South Carolina and North Carolina. Last year’s event featured 300 antique cars and more than 3,000 spectators attended.
The Car Show was created in 1992 by longtime Rotarian, Lanier Sims. Over the years it has grown to fund many of the worthy causes supported by the Covington Rotary Club, including Camp Sunshine for kids and families fighting childhood cancer and other club projects.
Advance registration for vehicles is $20 by September 30st and $25 the day of the event. Registration forms may be downloaded from the Rotary Club’s website http://www.rotarycovington.org. Under Projects/Fundraisers on the left side of the Rotary home page click on ”Cars of the Past” Car Show. Then on the next page click on Car Show Preregistration Form. The completed form is mailed in with a check. Registration on the day of the event is from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Chartered in February 1939 the Rotary Club is a pillar of the Covington community.
