All-Star lineup at The Mystic 

Chris, Jon & Scott. Friday, April 21, 7 p.m.: 

The tremendous trio hits the rooftop once again, and I have no doubt that they'll kill it like they do every. single. time. I've written about these guys perhaps upwards of a dozen times in this space over the last year or so. So instead of taking my words for it, I'll let the band, from their Facebook profile, speak for themselves: 

"[They] captivate audiences with their incredible sound and musicianship. Chris & Jon, both born to be musicians, met over five years ago when they began to play for a large show band. Naturally, they drifted together to form this group that is quickly becoming a local favorite. There is no limit to the variety of styles Chris & Jon are able to perform which only gets better when they add Scott whose musicianship and diversity on the bass expands their outreach."

Hannah Thomas. Saturday, April 22, 7 p.m.:

This supremely talented local lady is another artist that's been written about many times in this space, and for good reason - she's amazing! Again, I'm going to use another's words to describe Hannah: 

"The soul of old country, and that will always be there, but she's also a die-hard rocker with some punk thrown in the mix" - Amy Ray of Indigo Girls (Georgia Music Magazine - Spring 2013). That's pretty high praise coming from such a highly regarded and well-known artist, isn't it? 

And it certainly seems that Hannah has been putting in more local stops the last few months. That's a win for Newton Co.! Learn more about Hannah at her Facebook page: @hannahthomasband

The Mystic folks are also excited about having Denver Shellnut, a well-known local country fella, returning to the rooftop on Thursday, the 20th. 

Exciting week at The Listening Room

Per usual, Thursday evening, the 20th, will see another rendition of Jazz & Martinis with guitar guru Anthony Mancini and his topnotch trio. This is Jazz with attitude, folks. 

Kolby Oakley with opening act, Eli Rhodes, Friday, April 21, 8 p.m.: 

Another "Free Friday" at the upstairs music hall at the Irish Pub will see New York native now turned Nashville-based Country artist Kolby Oakley hitting the stage in what promises to be a very cool evening. Born to a musical family, Kolby has been playing out since he was 14 and has opened for the likes of The Zac Brown Band and now tours pretty heavily throughout the southeast and eastern seaboard. He's quite talented. 

The Muckers. Saturday April 22, 8 p.m.:

These guys have definitely grabbed my attention. Based out of Atlanta, they describe their sound as "Culture Punk," which is a fusion and mash-up of traditional Irish & Celtic mixed in with Bluegrass and Folk but done within a framework of punk energy and sensibility. Wow! There are other elements involved as well. Truly a potpourri of sound, these guys can really play, too. This looks to be a great show.

And as most of you know, that's just the tip of the iceberg but that's all space will allow for this edition.
