COVINGTON, Ga. – Piedmont Physicians Group at Newton Drive announced today
that primary care physician Matthew Mote, D.O., is joining the practice and
will begin seeing patients Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Dr. Mote is relocating to Georgia from Grove, Oklahoma, where he has most recently been a family medicine staff physician for Grand Lake Family Medicine Group. While there, Dr. Mote built a practice seeing patients of all ages, performing minor procedures and providing inpatient care and support for pediatric patients at Integris-Grove Hospital.
Dr. Mote received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree in May 2008 from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa Okla. He completed his internship and residency programs at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Ga.
As an active duty service member in the U.S. Army, Dr. Mote served as a staff physician at the U.S. Army Health Clinic Bamberg in Germany and later held the position of Medical Director and Primary Care Staff Physician for the U.S. Army Health Clinic in Hohenfels, Germany.
In addition, Dr. Mote served as squadron surgeon while deployed in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He has also been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal for his service.
