Mr. and Mrs. Donald S. Smith announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Elizabeth of Covington to Chandler Salmon, son of Mrs. Robin Salmon and the late Jeff Salmon of Covington

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bob King and the late Idabelle King and Mr. and Mrs. William Smith. She is a graduate of Newton High School and Georgia College & State University. She is employed by the Newton County Board of Education as a teacher at South Salem Elementary.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Tinsley and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Boyington. He is a graduate of Eastside High School and DeKalb Technical College and is pursuing a career as an Emergency Medical Technician.

The couple plan to we July 11 at First Presbyterian Church in Covington.
