Steve and Lynda Dunton of Covington announce the engagement of their daughter Allyson Michelle Dunton to Scott William Hamilton, son of Kevin and Emily Hamilton of Roanoke, Va.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Nancy Toppins, Richard and Eleanor Toppins of Conyers, Helen Harrel, Dallas, the late Roy Harrel and Frank and Marion Dunton, Dallas. She is a graduate of Young Americans Christian School andToccoa Falls College. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Young Americans Christian School.

The future groom is the grandson of Robert and Ardith Hamilton of Pittsburg, Pa.,and Robert and Shirley Cary of North Carolina. He is a graduate of Greater Roanoke Home Educators and Toccoa Falls College. He teaches high school at Young Americans Christian School.

The wedding will be Sept. 18 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
