Pauline G. Ballew of Covington announces the engagement of her daughter Nikki Sheree Ballew to Nicholas Sean Sorrells of Covington, son of Wade and Joan Sorrells.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ethel Gallops and the late Willie Homer Gallops of Sylacauga, Ala., and the late Barbara jean Watkins of Porterdale. She is the daughter of David A. Ballew of Covington.

 She is a graduate of Newton High School and is studying journalism at Georgia Perimeter College. She is employed by Kroger and by Georgia Perimeter College.

The future groom is the grandson of the late D.K. and Myrtle L. Sorrells of Coming, the late Ralph B. and Louise J. Watkins and the late Peter Paul Olmoz of Norcross.

 He is a graduate of Newton High School and employed as a technology support technician at Georgia Perimeter College.

The wedding will be Sept. 30 at Gateway Community Church.
