Who is Jesus?

At the heart of the Christian faith is a central personality, Jesus, who said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). Without Christ there is no Christian faith. Without Christ, there is no possibility of hope, salvation or eternal life.

We are living in a day when we are being told that we are to accept all world religions and their gods as being equal, but the Bible tells us there is only one way to true peace, meaning, purpose and fulfillment in life. There is only one road to eternal life and heaven and that is through Jesus Christ, who said: "I am the way." Salvation comes only through him. All other paths are wrong paths; all other gods are false gods, according to scripture.

The Apostle Peter said: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

The greatest question you will ever answer in life is this: "who is Jesus?" Who you believe Jesus to be is a matter of life and death, of heaven or hell. We cannot remain neutral. We must either accept him for who he is, or reject him and be eternally lost. There is no middle ground.

The following truths are clearly stated in scripture about who Jesus is.

Jesus was and is God.

Jesus is eternal.

Jesus became flesh.

Jesus was born of a virgin.

Jesus was both fully God and fully man at the same time.

Jesus was the only qualified substitute to die for the sins of all humanity.

Jesus triumphantly arose from the dead.

Jesus ascended back to heaven, from where he had come into this world.

Jesus is actively interceding for us.

Jesus is coming again.

These are core truths about Jesus. He was more than a good man, a historical figure, an eloquent speaker, or a noble teacher or Rabbi. He was, and is, the Son of the Living Jehovah God of the holy Bible and is the only way to a purpose-filled life here and now, and to the hope of eternal life hereafter.

Who is Jesus to you? What will you do with him? In faith, reach out and trust him to meet the deepest need of your heart and life today. He really is the only way, the living truth, and the pathway of abundant and eternal life.
