Wayne Maloney of Covington died Nov. 21 at Crawford Long Hospital at the age of 63. Born Sept. 3, 1944 to the late Arthur H. (Buck) and Leslie Marie Ozburn Maloney, he was a member of Porterdale Baptist Church. Mr. Maloney owned and operated Maloney's Machine Works for over 35 years and was a former peace officer and code enforcement officer for the Newton County Sherriff's Office for 18 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and repairing antique tractors.

Mr. Maloney is survived by his wife, Carol L. Maloney of Covington; children Luther J. Maloney of Atlanta and Sharon Maloney of Roswell; aunts Lucile Bowles of Covington and Sue Holcomb of Cumming; several cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Maloney will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, Covington with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
