Donald Anthony "Tony" McClure, 66, of Paducah, Ky., died Feb. 23 at Cox Dunbar Family Car Home. Mr. McClure was a native of Covington and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Mr. McClure was a Duke of Paducah, a Kentucky colonel and a professor at Paducah Community College from 1974 to 2000. While at Paducah Community College, he served as athletic director, girls and boys basketball coach and was named Men's Basketball Coach of the Year in the Seventh Region in 1986. He was preceded in death by parents Malvern Sanders McClure and Frances Duke McClure.
Surviving are wife of 28 years Susan Courtney McClure; daughter Courtney McClure Hampton and husband Roger of Indonesia; sons Melvin McClure of Paducah and Donnie McClure of Albany; sister Sally Mobely and husband Billy of Monroe; brother Jerry S. McClure and wife Ellen of Covington; brother-in-law Kevin Courtney and wife Nancy; sister-in-law Jane Williams and husband Rick; and father-in-law Elvon Courtney, all of Paducah; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Milnor & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Summerllin officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lourdes Hospice, P.O.
