Syble Carter, 89, of Covington, died January 31. A native of Carollton, Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a member of Kelly's Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Garce Carter and daughter Betty Jo Buffington

Surviving are children Mable Busbee, Garce (Ed) Carter, Terry Carter, Laurie Mason; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews

Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at Horis A. Ward's Rockdale Chapel with the Rev. Nolan Jackson officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge.
