Sonya Stephenson Tuck of Oxford died March 8 at Newton Medical Center at the age of 45. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Social Circle, loved playing softball, cooking, bird watching, taking care of her house plants and her dog, Max. Sonya loved her fellow residents at Merryvale Assisted Living where she enjoyed being a member of the Merryvale Red Hat Society and playing Bingo. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. Sonya is preceded in death by her father, Jack Lewis Stephenson Sr.; sister Tanya Stephenson Connaughton; father-in-law Larry Tuck.

Surviving are husband Chris Tuck; daughters and son-in-law Christy and Justin Edmondson, Caitlin Tuck; grandson Christopher Edmondson, all of Oxford; mother Elizabeth Stephenson; brother and sister-in-law J. Lewis Jr. and Mandy Stephenson, all of Covington; grandmother Frances Poole of Oxford; mother-in-law and step father-in-law Don and Delores Vincent; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike and Tracie McCrorey and Dane and Amanda Smith, all of Oxford, Darryl and Julie Tuck of Covington; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Sonya will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday March, 11 at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan, located at 1215 Access Road with Rev. William C. Tribble officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the education for her daughter, Caitlin Tuck, at Newton Federal Bank. For information call (770) 786-7088.
