Panthers win wrestling duals

The Indian Creek Middle School wrestling squad won the New Rock League Championship on Saturday at home.

Coached by Neil Badertscher and Anthony Wimpey, the Panthers defeated Memorial (95-12), Davis (52-47) and Cousins (56-45) during the championship duals. Rounding out the top four finishers were Cousins (second), Davis and Conyers.

Indian Creek wrestlers earning one win each were Delone Batchelor (103 pounds, pin), Wesley Chambers (103, pin), Justin Cochran (112, pin), Zach Sertain-Lawrence (160), Adam Walden (90, pin) and Daniel Whitlow (135, pin).

Panthers earning two victories apiece were Kamron Scaggs (130, pin), Jarrod Rickman (145, pin), Will Daniel (152, pin), Troy Crittendon (HW, two pins), Grady Bryant (160, two pins), Kyle Barronton (119, two pins) and Eric Barnes (95, two pins).

Winning all three of their matches were Sage Allen (125, two pins and one tech), Tyler Bailey (80, two pins and one tech), Alex Davis (140, three pins), Austin McCullough (85, three pins) and Mark Smith (171, one pin).

The Panthers will compete in the Individuals Tournament on Saturday at Clements Middle School.
