Ollie Mae Smith Thacker, 85, of Covington, died Sept. 1. The daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice Martin Smith, she was a member of Hopewell A.R. Presbyterian Church, enjoyed family vacations to Daytona Beach, Fla. and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Thacker was preceded in death by husband Norman Edgar Thacker; daughter Eunice Gail Thacker and son Terry Wayne Thacker.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn and Gary Chesnut, Diane Arnold, Carolyn and Daniel Lunsford; son and daughters-in-law Charles and Melanie Thacker, Karen Thacker; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law Jennifer and Jose Cortes, Victoria Chesnut, Tiffany Wilkins, Tammy and Chip Sinyard, Kimberly Thacker, Tara Hill, Connie and David Cocchi; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law Adam Arnold, Terry and Sarah Thacker, Tracy Thacker Little, Chuck and Lori Thacker, David and Jennifer Thacker; great-granddaughters Terren Sinyard, Taylor Arnold, Morgan Hill, Aubree Thacker, Corley Thacker; great-grandsons Bryan Chesnut, Jackson Wilkins, Landon Sinyard, Nathan Sinyard, James Hill, Ian Thacker, Aaron Thacker; brother and sisters-in-law Bobby and Faye Smith, Margie Allen; sisters Emma Jean Lewis, Betty James; several nieces and nephews and many loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 3, in the Floyd Street chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with pastor Jeffrey Jacobs and Pastor Wayne Dickson officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
