Odessa Webb White

Mrs. Odessa Webb White died July 17. She was born in 1918 in Jasper County. She was preceded in death by parents Mr. and Mrs. Will (Berda Malone) Roby; husband Mr. Hughey White Jr.; siblings Ola Mae Rhodes (Doll), Willie Mae Franklin, Johnny Roby, William Henry Roby, and Charlie Davis (CD); and children Willie Oscar Webb and Deborah Washington. Mrs. White joined Bethel Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She retired from Covington Moulding after several years of loyal service. Mrs. White was the epitome of a loving, caring and faithful mother. She was always there caring for someone, some child or some grandchild. Her determination, dedication and perseverance are attributes worth emulation.

Surviving are sons the Rev. Jerry Webb, Dewey White, Hughey White III (Glenda); daughters Annette Webb, Barbara Jackson (Greg), Carol Ann Williams (John), Dorothy Smith (Cleon); 10 grandchildren; sister Marie Gaither; sisters-in-law Mary Louise Kelly, Mozell White, Annie M. Roby and Annie Nell Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 20 at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Theodis Bell officiating. Interment followed in the church Cemetery.
