Naomi "Gene" Ketchem

Naomi "Gene" Ketchem, 75. of Covington, died at Riverside Health Care July 5 following a brief battle with cancer. The daughter of the late Fred and Beulah Ketchem, she was born in 1931 in Greensburg, Ind. She graduated from Greensburg High School and later moved with her family to Covington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Atlanta, for many years, where she was involved with the choir. Since moving back to Covington, Miss Ketchem had become a member of the First Baptist Church, Covington. She volunteered for both the First Baptist Church and the Atlanta Medical Center, both in Atlanta.

Surviving are brother and sister-in-law Fred and Shareen Ketchem of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Terry Rowe of Covington; several nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by brother Paul E. Ketchem.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 12, at Harwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Thompson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers are welcome, but memorial contributions may be made in her honor at Calvary Baptist Church, 4228 Mill St., Covington, 30014.
