Ms. Ella Avery and Mr. Lamar Baynes announce the engagement of their daughter Kenyatta Morrison of Newton County to Marcus Wingfield, son of John and Melanie Biggs and Frank Wingfield.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Huey Avery Jr. and the late Lenora Avery and the late Annie Mae Baynes and Mr. Walter Clack. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Tobe and Rose Avery and the late DeWitt and Matilda Baynes. She is a graduate of Newton County High School.

The future groom is the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn Williams and Elizabeth Wingfield Smith. He is the great-grandson of the late John L. and Minnie Shepherd and Amos and Gennie Williams. He is a graduate of Newton County High School.

The couple will wed Sept. 20 at Grace Baptist Church, Porterdale.
