Mrs. Anita Rogers announces the engagement of her daughter Markieta Sherie Mathews of Covington to Quavoius Antwon Horton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Horton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac (Ada Lee) Mathews Sr. and the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Bessie Lackey.

She attended Denby High School, Detroit, and is employed at Riverside Health Care.

The future groom is the grandson of Ms. Grace Thomas and the late Ms. Estella Dennis and Charlie Williams. He is a graduate of Eastside High School and is employed at C.R. Bard.

The wedding is planned for July 28 at Rust Chapel United Methodist Church.
