Mia Joy Lyonias of Madison and Michael Adam Johnston of Covington were married Aug. 16 in Covington with the Rev. Charles (Charlie) F. Brown officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Matt and Nancy Lyonias of Madison and granddaughter of Joy and Carl Hardee of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dennis and Jeri Benicke of Roanoke, Va. The groom is the son of John and Vicki Johnston of Covington and grandson of Charlie and Nancy Brown of Fort Stewart and J.H. and Carolyn Johnston of Newborn. He is the great-grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover C. Vaughn of Covington, the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brown of Lithonia, the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Johnston Sr. of Newborn and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.P. McAdams of Rutledge.

The bride was given in marriage by her father Matt Lyonias. Serving as maid of honor was Holly Hurst of Madison. Serving as bridesmaid was Taylor Higginbotham of Covington.

The best man was Aaron Johnston of Covington. Flower girl was Morgan Johnston of Covington, and ring bearer was Ransom Johnston of Newborn.

The couple honeymooned at Mooresville, N.C., and now reside in Covington.

The groom will be starting the NASCAR Technical Institute in October.
