The Covington YMCA swim team began its season with the first meet of the summer yesterday against Meadowbrook in the Rockdale Swim League.

Led by coach Erin Gorman, there are 103 swimmers on the Y team this summer. In fact, it has a good chance of winning the league championship considering the vast improvements it has made in such a short period of time.

The team has grown from eight swimmers three years ago to one of the largest teams in the Rockdale Swim League. Furthermore, several of the swimmers are hoping to win an individual state championship, which will be held in late July.

The Y will host two home meets on June 24 and June 26 at 6 p.m.
