If you haven't already purchased your tickets to Southern Heartland Arts Inc.'s Monte Carlo for the Arts Night you have just three more days to do so. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday.

The Monte Carlo-themed event, which begins at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at The Oaks Golf Club on Brown Bridge Road, will feature blackjack, Texas hold'em, craps and roulette tables. There will also be a silent auction and a live auction at the end of the night with a professional auctioneer.

Tickets are $65 per person. With the purchase of their ticket, attendees receive two drink tickets, a cocktail buffet ticket and $5,000 in play gambling money.

Money raised from the event will go to support Southern Heartland's Instructional Art Program, which provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors and young adults interested in pursing a career in the visual arts. Money raised at the event will also be used to pay the rent on gallery classrooms, which are used for approximately 20 on-going art classes for children, adults and seniors and for the guild's annual summer art camp.

Monte Carlo for the Arts is Southern Heartland's annual February fundraiser. This is the 501(c)3's first fundraiser held outside of the gallery.

"We were just looking for a fundraiser that would be entertaining for both men and women," said Susan Wahl, finance chair for Southern Heartland Arts and an organizer of the event. "It's just a very good fundraiser because people want to come. It's entertaining so people don't mind spending that much money for tickets."

The goal at the tables is to win as much play money as possible, which will be exchanged at the end of the night for raffle tickets. Attendees then use their raffle tickets to enter various prize drawings.

There are 36 different raffle prizes attendees can win with prices ranging from $100 to $300. Among the featured prizes are rounds of golf at area golf courses, a simple will package provided by a local attorney, a UGA memorabilia gift basket, a Georgia Tech memorabilia gift basket, three different spa packages, a designer necklace from Brendale's and dinner packages to local restaurants with The Arts Association in Newton County tickets included.

Throughout the night, attendees will have a chance to bid on items in a silent auction, which will feature original artwork by Southern Heartland guild artists.

The end of the evening will feature a live auction with a professional auctioneer. The items for auction include a getaway at Chateau Elan, a coach Mark Richt signed UGA football, a Fripp Island, S.C., weekend getaway, a weeklong vacation at Antigua in the Caribbean, a martini and tapas dinner party for 12 catered by local chef Irene Smith and NASCAR Tickets to the Pepsi 400 in Daytona on July 5.

Raffle tickets can not be used for either the silent auction or the live auction.

Dress for the evening is golf casual. Attendance at the event is set at 200 so make your reservations fast before space runs out.

To make your reservations call (770) 464-0064 or stop by the gallery, located right off the square to purchase your tickets. Tickets can be paid for by check, cash or credit. Tax deductible checks to the event should be made out to Southern Heartland Arts Inc.
