Leonard "Lent" Huff

Mr. Leonard "Lent" Huff died Jan. 10. The son of the late Louis James and Helen Huff, he was born in 1950. He was educated in Newton County and joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age. Mr. Huff was the big brother of his family and was often called upon to walk a sister down the aisle or escort her to a function. He was preceded in death by brother Sammy Lee Huff, daughter Sherry Huff, granddaughter Zariah and father-in-law Deacon Willie Joe Heard.

Surviving are life-long companion Linda "Heard" Huff; daughter Jameka Huff (Tim); grandchildren Shemyiah (Bones), Shernylah "NyNy," D'Maury (Dee); godson Kenneth Reed (Keystone); brothers and sisters Bertha Huff, Bernice (Billy) Morrow, Emma Huff (Raymond), David Huff (Edna), Ruby Lee Huff, Ruby Nell (Kenny) Ingram, Debra (Carl) Browning, Donald (Pam) Huff, Doris (Curtis) Hardeman, Dianne (Sammy) Boswell, Horace (Elaine) Huff, Hazel (Emmanuel) Benton; aunts Cora Mitchell, Ellen Wright, Geraldine Royal, Liz Patterson, Alice, Mary and Martha Huff; uncles Robert Louis Howard, Rosco Leslie, Louis Leslie, Walter, Ed, J.W. and Norman Huff; special niece Sonya (Bruce) Stills; mothers-in-law Nellie Maddox and Sister Ruth Heard; devoted friends Eric Lawrence, Tyrone "Bookie" Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews, co-workers, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 15 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Camile Holmes officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
