Mr. Lamar Weaver died Oct. 12. The son of the late Walter "Bud" and Carrie Weaver, he was born in 1930 in Butts County. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. He married Geraldine Johnson.

Surviving are sons Lamar Weaver Jr., Anthony Weaver (Debra); daughter Sheryl Weaver; brother Mr. Walter Weaver Jr. (Gwendolyn); brother-in-law Mr. A.J. Stodghill; three grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at FairField A.M.E. Church, Jackson with the Rev. Mary Rose Butler officiating.
