Herman and Gail Johnson of Dublin announce the engagement of their daughter Marcia Lynn of Covington to Andrew Bryant Watkins of Covington, son of Charles and Ruth Watkins of Lyons.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Lou Johnson and the Late Herschel Johnson and Mavis and Ray Taylor and the Late Henry Snow, all of Dublin. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with bachelor and master's degrees in physical education and health. She received a Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and is employed with the Newton County Board of Education as a science teacher at Alcovy High School.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Charles B. Watkins and the late Agnes Beall and the late Barton and Gertrude Herring. He is a graduate of Reidsville High School and is employed at the Newton County Detention Center.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church, East Dublin.
