John T. (Johnny) Eskew Jr., 63, of Covington, a loving father and grandfather, died May 12. An outdoor sportsman, he enjoyed freshwater fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.

 Mr. Eskew was employed by DeKalb Medical Center, retiring after 17 years of services. He was preceded in death by mother Mary Deckner Eskew, father John T. Eskew Sr. and brother Billy Eskew.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Patty and Chris McCord, Tammy Eskew, Carol and Robbie Osborn, all of Covington, Lacy and Nick Bailey of Jackson; grandchildren Chase, Emily and Brett Osborn, Jessie McCord, David Bailey; sisters Ruth Crowder of Oxford, Sandra Anderson of Welaka, Fla., Cheryl Eskew of Summerville; brothers and sisters-in-law Fred Eskew of Summerville, Ralph and Jamie Eskew of Newborn, Larry and Peggy Eskew, Raymond and Paula Eskew, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 14, in the Floyd Street chapel of Caldwell and Cowan with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
