Jack Thomas Boozer

Mr. Jack Thomas Boozer, 71, Conyers, died Aug. 13. The son of the late John Marshall Boozer and Ruby Vanhorn Boozer, he was born in DeKalb County in 1936. He graduated from Avondale High School and proudly served our country in the United States Army and while in the service played football and baseball. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier. Mr. Boozer was a member of Conyers First Baptist Church. He was a member of the pilots' association and enjoyed flying airplanes. He also loved to play golf, landscaping and remodeling. He was preceded in death by parents, stepdaughters Dawn Robinson and Debbie Ash and grandchild Kelley Joann Robinson.

Surviving are son Brett Boozer of Covington; daughter Sherri Little of Rutledge; stepdaughters and sons-in-law Denise and Kenny Prater of Covington, Darlene and Randy Franklin of Monroe, Darlene and Wayne Robinson of Madison, Ala.; brothers and sisters-in-law Lamar and Rita Goodson, Jerry J. and Ann Goodson, all of McDonough; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 15, funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers, make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Liver Foundation.
