Mr. Hozie Lee Morris died Jan. 6. The son of the late Mr. Dubie Strong and Mrs. Carrie Lou Morris he was born in 1922 in Newton County. Educated in the Newton County School System, he joined Little Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from Porterdale Bibb Manufacture and later the Newton County Board of Education and moved to Atlanta. He was preceded in death by wife Ms. Byrtice Brewer Morris; sisters Ms. Mary Bell Morris and Ms. Beatrice Gordon and brother Mr. Ernest Morris.

Surviving are devoted sister Ms. Rosetta Martin, Atlanta; aunt Ms. Eloise Morris, Covington; sister-in-law Ms. Doris Morris, Covington; brother-in-law Mr. Charlie Gordon, Mansfield, Ohio; devoted friends Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Marie) Smalls, Mr. Charlie Jordan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at New Hope Baptist church with Minister Tony Morris officiating. Interment followed at Graves Chapel Cemetery, Social Circle.
