Mr. Homer Elwood Piper, 79, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Covington, died Nov. 3. Mr. Piper was a Shriner and served with the 82nd Airborne in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens at Rhodes Jordan.

Surviving are wife Mrs. Elizabeth J. Piper of Covington; daughters Brenda Gail O'Kelley of Lawrenceville, Cathy Piper Lester of Covington; several brothers and sisters; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held today, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Mr. James Sears officiating.
