Mother Hither Rose Grier died March 27. The daughter of the late Eddie and Rebecca Baker, she was born in 1915 in Conyers. She joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Usher's Ministry and faithfully served as president of the Mothers' Board. She was recently recognized as the oldest member of the church. Mrs. Grier was preceded in death by husband Mr. Bennie L. Grier and children Mr. Bobbie Grier, Mrs. Ruby Reynolds and Mr. Lonnie Grier.

 Surviving are children Mr. and Mrs. (Jimmie) Pearl Zanders, Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Peggy) Grier, Deacon and Mrs. Ben E. (Joann) Grier, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin (Shedonna) Grier; siblings Deacon and Mrs. Eddie (Mary) Baker, Deacon and Mrs. James C. (Florine) Baker, Mrs. Mable Graham, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy (Ollie) Collins; 12 grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 1 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. C.H. Glover officiating. Interment followed at Flat Shoals Cemetery.
