Helen Cason Barnett, 80, of Covington, died March 29. The daughter of the late Jack and Pauline Hancock Batchelor, she was the widow of Byron Barnett. Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Barnett loved her family and loved playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by son Jesse Cason.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Sherry and Gary Whitehead of Covington, Mary and Don Thornburgh of Social Circle; sons and daughters-in-law Wayne Cason, Steve and Connie Cason, Ricky and Barbara Cason, Nicky Cason, Kenneth and Annette Cason, Barry and Annette Cason, Scott and Laura Cason; sister and brother-in-law Jeanette and James Griggers; brother and sister-in-law James (Jimmy) and Linda Batchelor, all of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held April in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Willie Smith officiating. Interment followed at Covington Mill Cemetery.
