Hassie Faye Malcom, 58, died May 22 at Southern Regional Medical Center. Daughter of the late Lincoln Ellington, she was a life-long resident of Newton County and had been employed at Southern Bell and Rockdale Hospital as a switchboard operator and a receptionist. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and her hobby was her grandchildren, who were the love of her life. Mrs. Malcom was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Ellington.

 Survivors include her husband, James (Jimmy) Malcom of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Hope M. and Lee Skinner of Loganville; grandchildren, Caleb Skinner and Natalee Skinner; mother, Gladys Pace Ellington of Covington; numerous nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services for Mrs. Malcom will be held at 4 p.m. today, May 25, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Pastor David Dills officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
