Dear Editor: As a citizen of Newton County and Covington, I want to express my thanks to Tommy Hailey and his staff for the excellent job they do in promoting recreation in our county.

Last week their hard work and dedication was evident as they hosted the Dixie Boys World Series at City Pond Park. Players, coaches, parents and officials of Dixie Baseball were truly impressed with the facilities and effort put forth to make them feel at home in our community.

We have one of the best recreation departments in the State of Georgia, if not the best. They are to be congratulated.
