Frances Allen Fannin

Frances Allen Fannin, 76, of McDonough, passed away peacefully June 13 after a long battle with cancer. The daughter of Lollie Avery Allen and Will (W.J.) Allen, she was born in Covington, one of three children. She was preceded in death in 2002 by husband of 46 years Rogers Fannin. Also preceding her in death were brother Willie Clifford Allen in 1992 and seven half-brothers and -sisters Bessie Cawthon, Essie Watts, Nina Moore, Gertrude Rosser, Emmett, Linzy and Herman Allen. Mrs. Fannin retired from Southern Bell (BellSouth) after a 30-year carrer. She reentered the workforce, working for a number of years at Piedmont Moulding and Sporty Lady in Conyers. She was an active and dedicated member of Timberridge Presbyterian church for 47 years. Mrs. Fannin was a loving mother to her family and to all children with whom she came into contact. She loved her flowers and doing for others.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 16 at Timberridge Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Matt Allison and the Rev. Keith Keller officiating. A reception followed in the fellowship hall with interment following at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Timberridge Presbyterian Church, 2704 Conyers Road, McDonough, 30252, or Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, 30253.
