Dear Editor: We would like to express our thanks to The Covington News for the article "Uniting against cancer" on May 30 that publicized our battle against cancer while uninsured and the efforts of our community to help us through a fundraiser. The article by Rachel Oswald was sensitive to our personal situation yet informative of our needs and the position many people are facing with rising insurance and medical costs.

We appreciate and acknowledge that The News employs a reporter like Rachel and a photojournalist like Mandi Singer, who can come into your home, make you feel at ease, ask questions, listen, compile facts and related information, take photos with a heart and write an article that expresses to the public in a compassionate and informative way a community concern.

Due to the article and the efforts of the NCHS classes of 1962-65, Central community Church, family, friends and the Covington community, the fundraiser was a success and a blessing. We thank God for each and every blessing and pray that God blesses everyone who has so richly blessed us.
