Edie Cochran, 73, a 15-year Covington resident, died Feb. 10 at Newton Medical Center. Both Mrs. Cochran and her husband are charter members of the Newton County Seventh Day Adventist Church and former members of Conyers Seventh Day Adventist Church. She had served in many capacities in church offices and loved being of service to the Lord and to people. She enjoyed being with her family and her church family and being outdoors in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Surviving are husband of 54 years Ronald Cochran; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Gary Gunnyon of Newborn, Rhonda and Bob Coody of Covington, Julie and Arnold Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren Gary R. Gunnyon, Tony Coody, Amanda Coody Chatham, Michael Coody, Mandy Brown Puryear, Rachel Everett, Hannah Brown; six great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Jones of Dawnsonville, Ruth Payne of Tunnell Hill; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with Pastor John Swafford, Pastor Shawn Shives and Pastor Daniel Romanov officiating. Flowers are acceptable or a love offering may be made to the family.
