Eastside High's Taylor Smith capped his senior year Monday by signing a golf scholarship with Georgia College.

Yet there is still one more task at hand before Smith makes the jump to the next level - competing in the Class AAAA state tournament on Monday at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Augusta.

Smith, who has been the No. 1 golfer for the Eagles during his four-year tenure, shot a 3-under 69 last week to win the medalist honor and lead Eastside to a second-place finish in the Region 8-AAAA tournament at Innsbruck Resort and Golf Club in Helen.
