Horace and Beverly Dyer announce the engagement of their daughter Kristen Dorianne Dyer of Covington to Jerrod Pinkston, son of Wilbert Pinkston and the late Valarie Harper.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mellie Perry and the late John H. Perry Jr.

She is a graduate of Newton High School, Georgia Perimeter College and Georgia State University. She works at The Covington News as director of target media.

The future groom is a graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School and DeKalb Technical College. He is employed as a building engineer by Georgia Power.

The wedding is planned for Nov. 3 at the Holiday Inn, Conyers.
