As the summer begins to wind down and students return to school, local restaurants and bars look to host many fun-filled events on almost every night of the week.
On Sunday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Fox Vineyards, located on Ga. Highway 11, hosts free music for the public.
Newly renovated Bear Creek Marina and Tavern on Jackson Lake is hosting a concert by Blind Justice on July 19 and Front Page on July 26.
Also offering weekly specials, the marina has ladies' night every Thursday and karaoke every Friday.
Edwin Bean Coffee House on U.S. Highway 278 will be providing live music as locals showcase their talent in several different genres.
On July 25 Mac Gray will grace Edwin Bean's stage, as will Kyle Shellnutt on July 26; The Blackbirds on Aug. 1, 4 and 20; and Mark Jaymes on Aug 2.
For those wanting to get away from the music and who are more intrigued by testing their wealth of knowledge, trivia night offers a great solution.
With questions ranging from pop culture to sports, several local restaurants are sponsoring the fun.
On Wednesday starting at 7:30 p.m., Johnny's New York Style Pizza hosts team trivia, and on Thursday Amici Italian Café - located just off the square - begins play at 7:30 p.m.
Jimbo's Grill at the Mill in Porterdale will soon begin their question and answer sessions after a seasonal break.
Jimbo's is also hoping to start Texas Hold 'em poker tournaments in the future.
Also hosting special events are The Depot Bar and Grill, Porterdale Bar and Grill, Mickey Dee's, and It's Five O' Clock Somewhere.
