This has been an exciting sports week for Newton County. Thousands of visitors have flocked to the area to enjoy our hospitality, our shopping and most of all the Dixie Boys World Series.

The Newton County Recreation commission is a point of pride in Newton County. The staff along with countless volunteers have made the world series, thus far, a success.

Teams and fans from across the Southeast have made a temporary home here in Newton County since Friday. The hope is that they all found Covington and the surrounding areas to be accommodating.

The Dixie Boys World Series will always be a welcomed event in Newton County - hopefully the county will have the opportunity to host again in the not-so-distant future.
