Delia Long Lanners

Mrs. Delia Long Lanners, 84, of Morganton, N.C., passed away April 4 at her residence. Born in 1923 in Salem Fork, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Alexander Long and Ester Haymore Long. Mrs. Lanners had a zest for life and, along with her husband Tom, was a world traveler and an active member of an Airstream Camping Club that took them on many adventures across the country and beyond. She will be remembered by family and friends for her fun-loving sense of humor and her optimistic outlook on life which spilled like sunshine onto all she knew.

Surviving are son Jay Thomas Lanners and his wife Buncie and their children, Sarah and Jay Jr., all of Oxford; daughter Delia Lanners Box and husband Carey Box and their children Collin and Garrett, all of Franklin, Tenn.; sisters June Long Trivette and Madeleine Long; many other members of her beloved large family.

A memorial service and celebration of her life was held April 7 in the community room of Grace Ridge with the Rev. Michael Bailey officiating.
